Vernon
Pugh, QC. d. 24th April 2003.
The Officials, Committee,
Players and Members of Cardiff HSOB wish to express their great sadness
at the death of Vernon Pugh QC. He was 57 and had been fighting a
long-term illness.
Vernon was a former
player in a very successful Old Boy's side in the late 1960's and early
1970's, and later coached the Youth XV and 1st XV with his brother John,
to great success in the late 1980's and early 1990's.
Vernon played in the Old
Boy's team that reached the last 16 of the Welsh Cup in 1974, losing to
Llanelli RFC, and then coached the side that reached the last 8 of the
Schweppes Cup, losing to Pontypridd RFC.
The club offers its
deepest sympathy to Vernon's wife Dorinda and their three daughters.
